Hold On Me

I saw something in your eyes
Capacity to empathize
It ain’t been long but I am wondering
Could it be for a long time?
I don’t know yet if we rhyme
Let me know if you can see it in my eyes
You’ve got a hold on me
You’ve got a hold on me
Eeeeeeeee
When we met the snow fell down
On your red curls it formed a crown
We adventured all around the town
The second time the sky was bright
The air was cold your hug was tight
We were a big ball of delight
You’ve got a hold on me
You’ve got a hold on me
Eeeeeeeee
You told me when you were young
You wanted to be one
Of those men throwing balls around
Then you got to a certain age
And you longed for the stage
Now you’re dancing like a clown
You’ve got a hold on me
You’ve got a hold on me
Eeeeeeeee
You say you don’t know who you are
Which I guess would make it hard
For you to open up your heart
It may not be the time right now
But I am willing to allow
Some time for you to come around
To me
The wind blew with you next to me
As you slept silently
I knew this wouldn’t come again
You were clear, but I held on
Hoping I could sing this song
to your face months or years along
